Events

Final Conference of the project entitled “Energy performance certificates for public buildings” took place on 27th and 28th of September 2010 in Cracow. The project was implemented by PNEC since December 2008 and was co-financed by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.

The conference was addressed to representatives of Polish municipalities, people responsible for energy management in buildings and directors of schools. It gathered nearly 90 participants. Topics raised at the conference concerned energy audits and energy performance certificates, role of the education in energy management, accessible funds for investments in public buildings sector and influence of lighting at energy consumption in public buildings.

An international conference entitled „Polish cities and villages for the climate” was organised by the Association of Municipalities Polish Network “Energie Cités” (PNEC) on 17th and 18th of June 2010 at the Royal Castle in Niepołomice. It received the patronage of Stanisław Kracik, the Voivode of Małopolska Region. Nearly 100 participants took part in the conference, including representatives of Polish and Ukrainian municipalities and delegates of the Ministry of the Environment, the Energy Regulatory Office, the Embassy of Denmark and the Covenant of Mayors Office.

On the 7th of December 2009 Municipal Intelligent Energy Day was organized in Raciechowice. The event took place in the Municipal School Complex no1. It was organized together by the municipal administration and the Association of Municipalities Polish Network "Energie Cités" within the framework of a project MODEL (Management Of Domains related to Energy in Local authorities”.

On October 20th, 2009, at  the invitation of the EU Committee of the Regions (CoR), our Association participated in a seminar, organized by the CoR Commission for Sustainable Development, in Toruń. The main topic of the seminar was: "Adaptation to climate change: local and regional policy in the European and national context".

Municipal Councils of Bielawa and Dzierżoniów decided to organize the second edition of Municipal Intelligent Energy Days together. The event was organized in Dzierżoniów on 26th and 27th of September 2009. It gathered about 15 000 people and was a part of XV Dzierżoniów Business Presentations (Dzierżoniowskie Prezentacje Gospodarcze) which aim at supporting the development of local enterprise. Employees of both Municipal Councils had their stand at the fair where they answered questions such as: how to save energy, what are the advantages of energy efficient behaviors, how much electricity do PV cells make or how to best insulate a house.

Over 100 participants took part in the international conference „COVENANT OF MAYORS - European Initiative for Climate Protection” which took place in the building of Cracow City Council on 28th and 29th of May 2009. The conference gathered people which are interested in fighting against climate change at the local level.

Municipal Intelligent Energy Day in Gorlice took place on the 15th of May 2009. The event was organized within the framework of the project entitled “Management of Domains Related to Energy in Local Authorities (MODEL) whose Polish coordinator is the Association of Municipalities  Polish Network “Energie Cités”.

Students from local schools gathered in large numbers at the market square holding self-made banners with ecological slogans. Janusz Fugiel, Deputy Mayor of Gorlice, welcomed invited guests. Official opening of the event was followed by the presentation of artistic programs prepared by the young people from municipal schools.

The RES Champions League, renewable energy competition for European cities, towns and villages has officially been opened  on 23th of April in Brussels. The event was part of the conference "3x20 PLAY THE GAME!" organized by Climate Alliance and Energie-Cités.

 

POLISH RES LEAGUE was officially opened on the 5th of February 2009 during the workshop „Utilization of solar energy and biomass”. The workshop was organized within the framework of the annual ENEX fair in Kielce by the Association of Municipalities Polish Network „Energie Cités” and the GLOBEnergia magazine.

Representatives of Polish Network “Energie Cites” participated in European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) in Brussels (9-13 February 2009).
