The goals of the project is improvement of the capacities of public authorities to develop and implement local strategies and action plans for enhancing the use of RES in small district heating networks. 

This outcome will lead to: 

  • fossil fuels and CO2 emission reduction, 
  • improvement of local air quality,
  • socio-economic benefits for local communities through the growths of technical, expertise and the start-up of investments and innovative financial tools.

Activities planned in the selected region (Płońsk Energy Cluster):

  • creation of a Regional Stakeholder Advisory Group, including representatives of entities and institutions interested in increasing the share of RES in heating,
  • diagnosis of the heating market, with particular emphasis on current and potential use of renewable energy sources,
  • analysis of the potential for further use of RES to supply consumers with district heating,
  • development of an action plan to increase the use of renewable energy in heating,
  • preparation of a pilot investment - a small heating system based on renewable Energy,
  • proposing an innovative financial tools supporting the development of heating systems based on renewable Energy,
  • adaptation to the Polish conditions of the Austrian Quality Management System "QM Holzheizwerke".
