Capable modulesA new training course developed as part of the CaPABle project (full name: Building Capacity of Public Authorities towards meeting Public Building stock Renovation challenges, funded by the Erasmus+ program), for municipal officials, technicians, administrators and actors interested in the topic of building decarbonization, is now freely available online.

The training materials have been developed to raise the competence and develop the skills of public and private entities to improve the energy performance of public buildings.

Consuming less energy in them is not only a relief for public budgets, but also a way to reduce emissions that alter the climate. Energy efficiency in public buildings has become a strategic priority for the EU especially now that Covid and war have driven up energy prices and climate change is manifesting itself with increasing intensity.

The Capable course covers 5 subject areas:

  • Module 1: Legislation and regulation
  • Module 2: Energy efficiency standards and circular economy principles
  • Module 3: Funds and financing
  • Module 4: Project management systems
  • Module 5: Good practices and case studies

A test after completing each module will help to verify the knowledge gained, and its successful solving will allow to obtain a certificate (in English), which will be sent to the email address used for registration.

Each user of the course will be able to register on the e-learning platform of the CaPABle project after generating a personal password, which will allow him to access his individual training path and modules prepared in the form of presentations in the official languages of the project, including Polish.

As part of this project, we also plan to develop policy recommendations for decision-makers at the local and regional levels, as well as at the national level, to help to stimulate the process of effective renovation of public buildings, as well as achieve national goals for their decarbonization.

If you would like to share with us your experiences, comments, reflections or suggestions for changes and improvements in this area that we could include in the upcoming recommendations, we kindly invite and encourage you to send them by the end of March to: This email address is being protected from spambots.
