On Monday, 22nd of May 2017, representatives of our Association took part in the international workshop on energy performance contracting (EPC) and demand side management (DSM), which took place at the seat of the Regional Authority of the Vysočina Region. The organizer of the workshop was the Vysočina Energy Agency, which is part of the international project called TOGETHER  - Towards a Goal of Efficiency Through Energy Reduction. The project is financed from Interreg Central Europe 2014-2020 programme.

The workshop demonstrated what can be achieved by increasing energy efficiency and reducing energy consumption in public administration by using/introducing the EPC method and implementing energy savings by changing the behaviour of building users.

The workshop was opened by Pavel Pacal, vice-president of the Vysočina Region. Then interesting contributions were given by project partners, including Mr. Antonio Zonta, project coordinator from the Province of Treviso (IT) and Libor Gazovic from SIEA (SK). Manuel Nina (PT), who is an expert in behavioural DSM, spoke out delivering an inspiring set of showcases and practical examples related to the possible solutions and techniques for engaging buildings’users in energy efficiency measures.

The workshop was closed with the presentation of the 2 European projects tackling energy efficiency under the behavioural component: HORIZON 2020 project “Greenplay” and Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE project “Enrgy@School”

The aim of the TOGETHER project is to improve energy efficiency of public buildings in Central Europe by involving users in energy management processes, as well as to adopt new vision of buildings as places combining different functions and shaped by relationships between physical space, technological devices and user behavioral needs.
