Inclusive energy transformation - seminar in Jadwisin 2022
Over 60 representatives of cities and communes met on May 19 and 20 this year in Jadwisin during the seminar "Inclusive energy transformation and climate protection in cities and municipalities", organized by the Association of Municipalities Polish Network "Energie Cités". Participants had the opportunity to listen to experts, incl. from the Ministry of Climate and Environment and the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, and a debate on planning the further development of cities and communes in the context of new energy, geopolitical and social challenges, as well as take part in good practice sessions, conducted in small groups.
During the opening both Artur Borkowski – the Mayer of Serock and Leszek Drogosz - Head of the Board of the Association of Municipalities Polish Network „Energie Cités” (PNEC) and Head of Infrastructure Office, Capital City of Warsaw, emphasized the importance of climate actions, despite new difficulties emerging. Anna Jaskuła - Executive Director of PNEC, started the first part of the seminar, which concerned sustainable city management in the context of new energy and social challenges.
2nd meeting of the Local Advisory Team within the S3UNICA project
The second meeting of the Local Advisory Team was held on April 28, 2022 at the City Hall in Bielsko-Biala. It was opened by President Jarosław Klimaszewski. The event was an excellent opportunity to summarise the previous activities and results of the S3UNICA project, which promote and implement intelligent energy-saving solutions on university campuses. University representatives had the opportunity to learn about European good practices and current funding opportunities in the field of energy efficiency and environmental education in secondary and higher education.
Moving Towards Energy Autonomy: How to Guarantee Social Inclusion - EPAH conference in Zagreb
The second International Conference of the Energy Poverty Advisory Hub (EPAH) will take place on 28 and 29 June 2022 under the theme ‘Moving Towards Energy Autonomy: How to Guarantee Social Inclusion’. The conference is co-hosted by the Energy Poverty Advisory Hub initiative, the City of Zagreb and DOOR, a civil society organisation dedicated to promoting sustainable energy development.
Capacity building in energy literacy - competency questionnaire
We warmly invite and encourage you to complete a capacity-building survey on energy literacy, i.e. increasing competence and knowledge in the fields of energy use, energy efficiency and climate protection.
The survey aims to assess the level of awareness and knowledge in this area among young adults (29-39 years old) and then identify their needs and support them to increase their knowledge, qualifications and skills, as well as their self-confidence, leading to an active involvement in creating a sustainable society.
Robotisation of invoice handling in Bydgoszcz
An innovative way of managing documents more efficiently in the office has been implemented by our member city Bydgoszcz, introducing RPA technology, i.e. the Automation of Business Processes.
Robotisation of invoice handling is already another automated process at Bydgoszcz City Hall. It allows more efficient management of the city's electricity consumption needs and, consequently, results in the city paying less for energy. In addition, it optimises work in the office and frees officials from performing boring, tedious and repetitive tasks, allowing them to engage in creative work for the city and its residents.
Training on quality management system for biomass heating plants
Every year biomass is becoming more and more popular as a raw material in the thermal energy sector. On 30th March this year, our Association, as part of the ENTRAIN project, organised a training on quality management in biomass-fired district heating plants.
The event started with a short welcome and introduction of the participants to the topic of the meeting and the scope of the ENTRAIN project, its results and implemented activities were presented. Then the issue of quality management was raised, which consists of supervising all the activities and tasks that must be performed to maintain the desired level of quality in specific companies and organisations. The guidelines of ISO 9001, the principles, objectives and benefits of its implementation were presented, and examples were given of existing heating plants that have already implemented a quality management system in their enterprises.
4th meeting of the Polish Regional Stakeholder Advisory Group within the ENTRAIN project
On 23 March 2022 the fourth and last meeting of the Regional Stakeholder Advisory Group, established under the ENTRAIN project, took place in the Płońsk City Hall. The attendees were the representatives of the city of Płońsk, PEC in Płońsk, Social Housing Association, Płońsk Energy Foundation and universities. Members of the Regional Stakeholder Advisory Group are also involved in the activities of the Płońsk Energy Cluster.
The mayor of Płońsk Andrzej Pietrasik has officialy opened the meeting and welcomed the guests. Then he spoke about the numerous activities of PEC in Płońsk, which is a good example of a cogeneration plant utilising local renewable energy sources.
Bielsko-Biała launches the energy advisory program for inhabitants

Bielsko-Biała has been protecting the climate and caring for the welfare of its inhabitants by implementing various measures for saving energy and environmental resources for many years. In the face of constantly rising energy prices and increasing energy demand in the city, solutions which allow to build energy-saving habits in a simple way and to implement positive changes are of particular importance.
Within the framework of the ENERGIA NA MIARĘ (en. TAILORED ENERGY MEASURES) program carried out by our Association in cooperation with the City Office in Bielsko-Biała, the inhabitants of apartments and houses in the city will be able to take part, free of charge, in a comprehensive advisory process concerning rational use of energy. During individual meetings with an energy advisor they will receive a set of personalized tips and recommendations to reduce energy consumption without financial outlays and an Energy Package - a set of devices facilitating the implementation of the proposed solutions (i.e. energy-saving light bulbs, aerators, heat insulating mats, etc.).
Recruitment for the EPAH Technical Assistance Programme for local authorities extended until 15 March this year
Local authorities and organisations cooperating with them aiming at reducing and eliminating energy poverty in their municipality have more time to apply and receive technical assistance from experts and the team of Energy Poverty Advisory Hub (EPAH).
Until 6.00 pm. on March 15th this year interested parties can apply for technical assistance (expert support), lasting up to 9 months, which will enable them to more effectively plan and implement activities for people at risk of or affected by energy poverty.
Once registered on the website, applicants will be able to access and complete the online application form, which will take no more than two days.

Summary of the fourth local training organised within the ENTRAIN project
Optimisation and operation of small district heating networks using renewable energy sources was the topic of the fourth local training organised within the ENTRAIN: Enhancing renewable heat planning for improving the air quality of communities project, funded by the Interreg Central Europe programme. The event took place on 15 February 2022 and was the last of a series of four training courses, each dedicated to different aspect of district heating.
The training started with a short welcome and introduction of participants to the subject matter of the meeting as well as the scope of the ENTRAIN project, under which we met, was presented.
