07On 19 and 20 September 2023, a unique event took place in Warsaw, Poland, attended by more than 170 participants (and 160 online) from 23 countries. The annual Energy Poverty Advisory Hub conference was a special opportunity for local governments, EU institutions, energy agencies, civil society organisations and all stakeholders involved in energy poverty alleviation to discuss and share experiences on how to replace ad hoc solutions, applied in emergency situations, with a sustainable strategy that will help mitigate this negative phenomenon for all citizens, especially energy-poor and vulnerable consumers.

02The event's guest of honour was the Mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, who opened the conference with a speech in which he emphasised the capital's commitment to inclusiveness and bridging the divide between citizens. He presented valuable examples of the city's efforts to combat fuel poverty, in particular focusing on the complexity of this challenge and the many benefits for citizens that this process can bring.

03The official opening was followed by two panel discussions, with the participation of Leszek Drogosz, Deputy Director at the Infrastructure Office of the Warsaw City Hall and at the same time President of our Association, and Piotr Orzechowski, Deputy Mayor of Zamość. Over the next two days, the assembled guests participated in discussions and workshops focusing on cooperation, up-skilling and re-skilling, renovation financing, energy communities, the one-stop-shop concept and the Social Climate Fund.

04The conference concluded with a visit to Stara Praga, an example of the implementation of restoration activities in the city. Guided by experts from the Museum of Warsaw's Praga, participants learned about the multifaceted dimension of this initiative.

A detailed report, together with the materials provided, can be found on the official EPAH website.
