The campaign, funded by the European Commission, is based on three simple pillars: be aware (that disinformation exists), be prepared (to verify information), and be informed (check facts about climate action). According to a 2025 study, as many as 49% of EU citizens find it difficult to distinguish reliable information about climate change on social media from disinformation.

We invite you to watch the material produced as part of the campaign, which presents both the mechanisms of information manipulation and specific pro-climate and pro-environmental actions that improve urban life. In the first part, expert and science journalist Marcin Popkiewicz explains what climate change is, the consequences it brings, and how to distinguish reliable and truthful information from manipulated and misleading narratives.

The second part of the material focuses on practical actions implemented by the city of Bielsko-Biała, which have become an example of how well-used European funds bring real benefits to residents. City Gardener Dariusz Gajny presents investments that increase the city’s resilience to the effects of climate change. The city places particular emphasis on developing green-blue infrastructure and transforming concrete-covered, impermeable surfaces into green spaces that are friendly to both residents and nature.

Bielsko-Biała’s participation in this campaign shows that counteracting disinformation goes hand in hand with specific measures that help build awareness and expand knowledge on climate change and environmental protection.
