20250409 122200On April 8-9, 2025, the last in a series of international workshops organised within the OwnYourSECAP project (Bringing local and regional municipalities towards owning their SECAPs) took place in Bratislava, Slovakia. The event brought together 49 participants from 13 European countries, including project partners and representatives of local authorities. Poland was represented by delegates from Raciechowice (less experienced municipality), as well as Siemiatycze, Zamość and Żyraków (replication municipalities). The event marked the culmination of international knowledge exchange related to the implementation of Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAPs).

20250409 103323The workshop in Bratislava continued the series of successful international meetings previously held in Vienna and Prague. This time, participants intensively shared practical solutions for two days in key areas such as energy management in municipalities, climate change adaptation, effective communication with citizens and the implementation of specific SECAP actions. During the project meeting, the partners also had the opportunity to discuss the progress of activities and plan the final steps before the end of the project.

20250408 142636While the project partners discussed current and future activities, representatives of the municipalities took part in a field trip. Participants visited the National Football Stadium, recognised as the most environmentally friendly stadium in Central Europe, where they were introduced to innovative heating technologies based on heat pump systems. The next stop was the comprehensively renovated Alexander Dubček Primary School in the Karlova Ves district, which showcases the use of green roofs, rainwater retention systems, and eco-friendly construction materials.

The workshop in Bratislava not only provided an opportunity to present the project's achievements to date, but above all created a space for discussion on challenges and best practices that municipalities can use to meet their climate goals.
