The Energy Cities Annual Rendez Vous 2011 will take place on 6-8th of April in Zagreb (Croatia)! During the event, Energy Cities and the hosting city of Zagreb want to encourage European local authorities to “Do It Yourself…together”: Each city has its own energy challenges and skills, but only by teaming up with others it will be well prepared for an unpredictable 21st Century.

Behind commitments such as the Covenant of Mayors, there are many practical actions that pave the way of our cities’ future: some are minor fixes, others are part of an epic city master plan. All of them taken together aim at reaching energy and climate objectives. This also means transforming cities into even greater places to live.

The Rendez Vous in April 2011 intends to be a source of inspiration for political decision-makers, technical representatives, companies and academics. Local energy policies and their direct linkages with EU developments will be discussed focusing on the following:

  • Creative practices: how local level decisions are setting trends;
  • Valuable sources: how to finance great ideas;
  • Showing innovative methods of making cities efficient.

Share your skills and best tips on sustainable urban planning with other European cities from 6-8 April 2011 in Zagreb! More information:
